EXHIBITION: From material to work. When local resources become artisanal creations From April 5 to October 31, 2025 at the Atelier des savoir-faire, Ravilloles. From April 5 to October 31, 2025, Tuesday to Saturday from 13:30 p.m. to 18 p.m. In July and August every day from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m. and from 14 p.m. to 18:30 p.m. How does a raw material become a work of art? This exhibition explores the relationship between craftsmanship, nature, innovation and highlights the talent of craftspeople who transform local resources. Through the eyes of 18 artisans, artists and training centers from all over France, this exhibition celebrates know-how and creativity. A journey to the heart of local materials Each work presented embodies an artistic vision where ancestral know-how interacts with modern techniques. The chessboards made from Jura wood demonstrate a mastery of sculpture, while the glass works from Lorraine play with transparency and light, reinventing an ancestral heritage. In this exhibition, a chandelier made from Bresse chicken feathers, combining lightness and creative audacity, sits alongside Vosges sandstone sculptures, crafted with remarkable precision. The works made from fish leather illustrate an inventive art of reuse, while the woven paintings showcase the finesse of textile work. Some works bear the mark of time and nature, such as the petrifying fountains of the Massif Central, where water and limestone intertwine to shape the stone over the centuries. Similarly, the cut amethyst from Auvergne and the plant elements integrated into the creations reveal the harmony between the artisan and nature. The exhibition also highlights rare techniques, such as Jura marble stone terrazzo, a fusion of sculpted fragments that, through their geometric patterns and hues, create a true visual poetry. Each piece embodies meticulous craftsmanship, a deep respect for materials, and a quest for timeless beauty. An exhibition on innovation and artisanal tradition, "From Material to Work," celebrates the creativity of artisans who, between respect for traditions and the search for new expressions, shape exceptional objects. This exhibition pays tribute to craftsmanship in all its forms, celebrating the richness and diversity of natural materials, but also excellence. A journey at the crossroads of history, innovation, and artistic sensitivity. Guided tours of the exhibition: Discover the exhibition during our guided tours. This guided tour helps you understand how these materials are transformed into art. Every Wednesday at 15 p.m. in July and August.
