The Etival lakes

From ETIVAL – THE LAKES, follow the road (yellow marking) which slips between the two lakes and reaches At the top of the lakes. Continue right along and past the Great Lake  (peat bogs south of the lake) to reach a forest path at the crossroads A Tout Fromant.

1. On the left, the forest road leads to Way of Calvary (waterfalls).
2. Then climb the path on the left which joins the ridge at The Sea.
3. The path continues on the wooded ridge on the left, from where you can see the discreet Lac de la Fauge on the right in its valley. Reach L'Espinois, along the forest road.
4. Go back up to the ridge on the left and follow a stony path. Rejoin the road (good descent of the narrow path through the trees) and the BELVEDERE OF LAKES OF ETIVAL.
5. Follow the forest path to the north which leads to On the Lakes. Without changing direction, gradually descend into the forest (muddy path in places) to join the D 308 at Gadout fields.
6. Take the road on the left for 200 m, then turn left again to follow a forest edge (wet path) then the small Étival lake, and return to your departure point.

This route follows forest paths. Also for the respect of the owners and operators who authorize you to pass, for the tranquility of wildlife, you are invited to stay on the marked trails.

Please keep your dog on a leash if you have one.

Wildflowers are beautiful, they can be rare and protected and often wilt quickly. Don't pick them! They will delight future hikers.

In the event of forestry work (felling, skidding, etc.), for your safety, know how to give up and turn around.
