The three lakes

Recommended parking: Post office car park, Foncine-le-Bas. Departure : Foncine-le-Bas Difficulty : Medium Directions to follow:

Go down the village and reach the crossroads with the D 437 road to find the intersection FONCINE-LE-BAS.

  1. Go up the Chemin de la Grande Vie to the right which, once you leave the village, becomes a white path bordered by pastures, and comes out at the Fumey. Cross the D62 with caution and follow the small asphalt road which joins the Lady Lake.
  2. Continue on this road which goes around the lake, passing through a hamlet, then reaching the Monnets via a small path which branches off to the right.
  3. Cross the hamlet then at its exit, take the road which turns left and which goes down towards the Voigneurs.
  4. Take the white path which branches off to the right after a building and which runs alongside a peat bog, to emerge on the D62 road at the entrance to Fort-du-Plasne. Go down the village street and reach the Round Fountain.
  5. Take the small road on the left which goes down towards the Crêt. At the back of the village, cross a road and take the stony then earthy path which climbs into the forest, to emerge again on the road to follow on the right to quickly reach the Crêt.
  6. Continue to follow the road and go down to Thévenins, hamlet of Lac-des-Rouges-Truites.
  7. Cross with caution D437 To arrive at la Races, and continue to reach  THE BUGNON.
  8. Turn left and follow a white path on the edge of a valley in the middle of pastures. Successively exceed the Rquai bridge, Cernois Fountain  to reach the hamlet of Under Mont Noir.
  9. Go down the road to the right and continue straight through the pastures leaving the hamlet. The path then branches off to the left (mountain bike crossing) and crosses the forest until THE OLIVE BARN.
  10. Take the tarmac road on the left which overlooks the Galavo stream, cross the hamlet of Gypserie to reach the D437.
  11. Go down to the right to find the village of FONCINE-LE-BAS.
Duration of the route (in hours): 2.5 Tips: This circuit crosses departmental roads several times, be careful when crossing them.

For a mountain bike outing, wear a helmet and bring enough water.

The paths are shared with pedestrians and horseback riders, who have priority, so you should adapt and control your speed.

To use the mountain bike passages, do not hesitate to get off the bike.

This route crosses pastures and follows forest paths. Also for the respect of the owners, for the tranquility of livestock and wildlife, you are invited to stay on the marked trails and to close the barriers in the event of no mountain bike passage.

Wildflowers are beautiful, they can be rare and protected and often wilt quickly. Don't pick them! They will delight the next admirers.

In the event of forestry work (felling, skidding, etc.), for your safety, know how to give up and turn around.
