Set off to discover the “upper” part of the Hérisson waterfalls during an easy, family-friendly walk of 1 hour / 1 hour 15 minutes.
Park on the Saut Girard car park - Lake Ilay, in the hamlet of Ilay in the commune of La Chaux-du-Dombief.
From the car park, follow the direction of Hedgehog waterfalls via the gravel path opposite the car park, next to the wooden chalet. Along the way, a few benches allow you to take a break. You arrive quite quickly at Girard Jump, first of the Cascades du Hérisson.
You can approach the waterfall via a metal footbridge accessible by wheelchair/stroller, and have some refreshments at the snack bar.
Go around this guest house/snack bar to follow the Hérisson to the Moulin Jeunet.
Then head towards the Hameau La Fromagerie, where you can choose to visit theFrasnois botanical area or buy souvenirs and wooden objects from the Jura at the Boissellerie du Hérisson.
Return to the starting point in the Saut Girard - Lac d'Ilay car park via the pedestrian path, created parallel to the main road, in complete safety.
