Originally, in 1800 at the request of Napoleon I, Fort des Rousses was intended to be a exceptional stronghold. It allowed to live more than 3.500 soldiers and 2.000 horses.
It took no less than 70 years to build! Then, from 1914, it was rehabilitated in army training campIt was only in 1998 that, deserted, it was finally transformed into a maturing cellar with exceptional qualities for the County.
