Roaming through the Haut-Jura!
3 days of hiking through the Grandvaux and its lakes, waterfalls and high-altitude forests.
Arrival and departure possible by public transport: train and/or bus.
It is recommended to go with a hiking map of the territory that you can order here.
For each night, we recommend that you book your accommodation in advance.

1 Day:
Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux / Grande-Rivière Castle
About 9 km
For the previous night, you can contact
- La Ferme Léonie where a packed lunch can be offered to you
- The Pause ô Logis : 5 comfortable guest rooms and a group gite for 30 people
- The Municipal Campsite Le Champ de Mars : pitches, trailers, pods, etc.
You head south, through pastures and woods, towards the hamlet of Les Jeannez.
You will then arrive at a path leading into the forest and then descend until you reach the hamlet of the Abbey in Grandvaux and its beautiful lake.
You can then stay at theHotel Lou Granva, toAbbey Hotel, at the guest house Between valley and lakes or you can continue until Les Cernois reception and stay chalet, for a breathtaking view of the Jura Mountains.
2 Day:
Grande-Rivière Château / Nanchez
About 15 km
Start the day by admiring the view from the Belvedere of the Mill which, culminating at an altitude of 1000m, will offer you a panoramic view of the entire lake and its surroundings.
You will then reach the Pré Basset sound site where you can enjoy playing with its echo or simply listen to the birds singing.
This is when the path leads to another viewpoint, that of the Vierge d'Ecuvet, giving a view of the small hamlet of Château des Prés and the Jura Mountains. Once you have had your fill of this landscape, you will go down towards the center, while crossing charming little streams on your way and crossing a forest.
As soon as you arrive in the village, set your sights on the last challenge of the day: the Duchet belvedere, which will offer you a pleasant view of the Prénovel-Les Piards valley.
On the way back down, you can also extend the walk by discovering the peat bog of the Nanchez reach, a developed trail which will allow you to discover the fauna and flora evolving in a humid environment, before joining, for this second night, your accommodation in Nanchez:
3 Day:
Nanchez / La Chaux-du-Dombief
About 24 km
To start the day, you will set off through the pastures and dry lawns characteristic of the area.
You will then cross the forest to end in apotheosis with Eagle Peak and the 4 Lakes Belvedere, 2 of the most beautiful viewpoints over the Jura.
