The Jura Mountain Bike Escape is a route of 294 km for 7 m of positive elevation gain and 131 m of negative elevation gain, Dole à Saint-Claude via the Les Rousses resort.
This route largely follows the path of the Échappée Jurassienne pedestrian trail and adapts at times to remain accessible and avoid some passages that are impassable and/or dangerous on two wheels.
Due to its slope and its level of average technicality, the stages of the Jura Mountain Bike Escape are located between 30 and 50 km per day.
Be one 6 to 10 day adventure, depending on the technical level, physical condition and the use of a muscle or electric bike.
Below is a proposal for dividing the Échappée Jurassienne à VTT route into 6 stages of approximately 50 km. This fairly sporty division is particularly suitable for electric mountain biking:
- Step 1: Dole to Salins-les-Bains (53 km / 703 m D+ and 594m D-)
- Step 2: Salins-les-Bains to Poligny (46 km / 1493 m D+ and 1502 m D-)
- Step 3: Poligny to Perrigny (46 km / 1230 m D+ and 1067 D-)
- Step 4: Perrigny to Chaux des Crotenay (55 km / 1004 m D+ and 785 m D-)
- Step 5: Lime from Crotenay to the Rousses Station (51 km / 1287 m D+ and 670 m D-)
- Step 6: Les Rousses station in Saint-Claude (41 km / 1038 m D+ / 1709 m D-)
