La Great crossing of the Jura on horseback is a linear horse riding trail (or almost!) running along the Jura Mountains.
From its northern end at Crosey-le-Petit, in Doubs, between Besançon and Montbéliard, the hiking trail joins Arbignieu, in Ain, crossing the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park.
Almost 500 kilometers in total, or about twenty steps (in stopover lodges, equestrian farms, campsites, etc.) for riders wishing to explore the entire route, which can of course be discovered in sections, at the discretion of the hikers.
Based on the Jura Grand Huit and Ain à Cheval networks, this GTJ à cheval will have numerous shared routes, breakaways and branches.
It took into account all the parameters specific to theleisure riding : welcome adapted to horses, length of stages, diversity of territories crossed…
The central part of the route will therefore be accessible all year round, a "defiance" to the massif allowing riders to descend towards the plateaus and explore the Jura vineyards!
