EXHIBITION FROZEN LANDSCAPES - ABBEY MUSEUM Often perceived as a still, silent and frozen space awaiting the thaw, it has been the subject, over the centuries, of numerous projections or daydreams by artists. The mountain and the glacier were the most frequent motifs and incarnations giving shape to sometimes idealized or fantasized representations. Frost and snowy white can be associated with silence, opacity, but also with mystery, sometimes reassuring, sometimes imposing, sometimes distressing. Frozen matter can transform into a moving monster, an avalanche, but also protect unsuspected underwater life from view... Today, rapid and inexorable global warming is endangering seasonal balances and ecosystems and can also cause images to waver. , sometimes ready-made, which are associated with them... It is a journey through these stories and these movements in white and frost, even melted, that the Frozen Landscapes exhibition invites. Exhibition curators: Amélie Lavin, Valérie Pugin and Corsin Vogel During opening hours of the Abbey Museum: Wednesday to Sunday from 14 p.m. to 18 p.m.
