Departure from area of Bugnon.

Itinerary:

From the Chalet du Bugnon which is behind you, follow the white path to the right. This alternately crosses woods and meadows.

Always continue straight until you reach cylindrical metal bars in the ground: this is a Canadian crossing (Vehicles can pass, but not livestock. So the cows are well guarded!)

Before crossing it, take a short round trip on the grassy path on the left, to a small shed (Built following the storm of 1999, this small building was used to house a pump to water the woods and prevent them from being damaged). Take the time to admire the peat bog all around you before retracing your steps and continuing left on the white path.

A little further on, leaving the forest, you come out onto a large meadow, at Pont du Rquai.

Be careful as you follow the barbed wire on the left, you will discover a small discreet opening to enter the meadow, equipped with a Canadian mountain bike crossing.

Follow the grassy path still visible, then follow the white stones.

You then arrive at the entrance to a new meadow, blocked according to the period of an electric wire which you will take care to put back in place if necessary.

Continue towards the small wooden bridge which allows you to cross the river. Continue straight ahead up the quarries, lined with trees.

Arriving on another path, at Voie du tram, go to the left and walk admiring the landscape.

You have a bird's eye view of the entire wetland area. Continue to follow this landscaped path which takes you to the hamlet of Thévenins (The old cheese factory on the right was created in 1905. Since 2017, the Lac-des-Rouges-Truites cooperative society has merged with the Saint-Pierre cooperative to create the Pays Grandvallier cooperative. Their combined milk, of which 97% of the milk is intended for the manufacture of Comté, is processed in a new cheese factory building in Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux.

At the first houses reached, take the small road on the left which passes between a few houses.

From La Gare, a former tram station, go down the road which crosses the valley to reach the Domaine du Bugnon.
